It is one of the fastest G-classes in the world. And this is not a one-time “homemade” product, but a complete engineering product, because the German company Brabus not only makes kits for the completion of Mercedes, but also develops projects for completely finished cars and produces them in small quantities and under its own name. Brabus has already worked with the new G-class several times: there were also the Brabus 700 Widestar, and even the Brabus G V12 900 with a 12-cylinder engine. However, the new version is more dynamic than both of them, it is not for nothing that the company traditionally gives the name Rocket to the most extreme and fastest cars.

Instead of experimenting with the big and heavy V12 engine, the engineers took the standard Mercedes-AMG G63 with a V8 engine as a basis. The unit has been modified according to the same extensive program as last year’s Brabus Rocket 900 liftback. It received new turbochargers with increased boost pressure, and the working volume was increased from 4.0 liters to 4.4 liters (4407 cubic centimeters, although the company has round the volume to 4.5 l). As a result, the output has grown from the original 585 hp. and 850 Nm to 900 hp. and 1250 Nm. Although it was possible to remove up to 1500 Nm from a 12-cylinder engine with the same power.

The nine-speed “automatic” is reinforced, as well as the transmission with permanent all-wheel drive. As a result, the “mad Gelandewagen” can accelerate to 100 km / h in just 3.7 s versus 3.8 s for a heavier 12-cylinder version and 4.5 s for a standard factory car. The maximum speed is 280 km / h, and it is limited by an electronic collar (instead of the original 240 km / h).

The brick’s aerodynamics are enhanced with the Widestar body kit that Brabus offers for any G-Class: it includes widened wheel arches, different bumpers, a carbon fiber hood with additional air intakes, and a rear spoiler. The rocket is adorned with additional carbon fiber inserts and has 24-inch wheels with aerodynamic overlays.

Installed adaptive suspension and a new exhaust system with active flaps, which has a special quiet Coming Home mode for driving through residential areas. Red decor on the body (in particular, on the radiator grille) is a trademark of the Brabus Rockets. And another feature of the new version is the developed red illumination on the outside, which is called the Rocket Launch Ambience Light and should create the effect of a rocket launch.

Brabus will make only 25 of these SUVs, and the body color can only be black or gray. Customers will be able to choose the finishing of the interior to their taste. The price is at least 571 thousand euros, and this is only 34 thousand less than two years ago Brabus asked for a unique 12-cylinder G-class.
