Dodge is getting ready to enter a new era of electrified muscle, but not before it’s squeezed the last kick of adrenaline out of the old stuff with its two-year “Never Lift” campaign.
The power-crazed company has promised a new product every three months for the next 24, and today it busted loose the Jailbreak option package as part of that campaign.
Available on the 2022 Charger and Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebodies, the $995 Jailbreak model pumps the supercharged V8’s output from 797 hp to 807 hp, but is mostly focused on enhancing the personalization options available to Dodge customers. It allows buyers to choose from previously restricted trim combinations in more than 20 categories, including seats, stripes, wheels, brake calipers, badges, floor mats and more.
Exclusive Jailbreak content includes Hammerhead Grey Laguna leather seats, hood, rood and decklid stripes, blue and yellow brake calipers and Warp Speed Satin Carbon and Low Gloss Granite 20-inch wheels.
Those done-for-you combos include Red Dawn, The Classic, Yin Yang and the two seen here in our picture gallery, Old School and Brass Funky. The Old School Challenger Jailbreak wears F8 Green paint, 11-inch wide Warp Speed Satin Carbon rims, Satin chrome Hellcat grille and badging, plus engine-turned instrument bezels and a twill headliner. Over in the Brass Funky corner, the Charger comes in Hellraisin purple with sepia Laguna leather chairs, carbon gauge bezels and orange brake calipers.
The $995 price doesn’t seem so bad for the chance to really get personal with your Hellcat options, though you’re unlikely to feel the extra 10 hp. Orders begin at the very back end of this year, by which time we’ll be well on our way towards the next installment of Dodge’s “Never Lift” adventure.
